Remember AEP or Open Enrollment is early this year. Starting in 2012,the date changes from Nov. 15th thru Dec. 31st to Oct. 15th,and runs till Dec. 7th. Prior to this, letters from carriers that are making changes to their Medicare Advantage Plans will be sent out. This will give seniors a heads ups that their plan is changing and prepare to research other plans if they are not satisfied with the new plan.
During this period,anyone on a Medicare Advantage Plan has several options. They can stay on the current plan,which doesn’t require them to do anything. They can change to a different plan or company altogether. They also have the option to go back to Original Medicare A & B,and this allows you to purchase a Medicare Supplement Plan,or also referred to as a Medical Plan.
