Medicare counselors from the Oklahoma Department of Insurance Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) in Oklahoma City will facilitate an educational class in Enid. “Medicare Made Simple” is a class that will aid people preparing to retire and those new to Medicare Plan irrespective of age understand the program. The class will be 9 a.m. to noon April 28 in the NODA Area Agency on Aging conference room, 2901 N. Van Buren. The class also will be held in July and October unless the demand goes beyond the current schedule.
Medicare Plan is a federal health insurance for people 65 years of age or older and those under 65 with some disabilities and any age with end-stage renal disease.
Topics covered in the class will be original Medicare, Part A (hospital), Part B (medical), Part C (Advantage plans) Part D (drug plans), Medicare supplements/Medigap plans and eligibility requirements for help to pay Medicare premiums, deductibles and co-pays. Judy Rupp, care coordinator, and A.J. Shorter, I&A specialist for NODA Area Agency on Aging, will be supporting in the completion of online application for “Extra Help” application for those who may be eligible.
