The Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP), the state’s official source for free and unprejudiced Medicare Plan information and counseling plans to organize a “Welcome to Medicare” event in Stark County at the Mercy Medical Center in Canton on April 11 at 6 p.m. to help new and soon to be Medicare beneficiaries, understand the basics of Medicare according to Lieutenant Governor and Department of Insurance Director Mary Taylor.
OSHIIP is organizing “Welcome to Medicare” event in 15 countries starting from April to July 25. At the “Welcome to Medicare” event there is opportunity to learn the benefits Medicare Plan offers and significant deadlines they are supposed to meet. Information regarding Medicare Advantage plans, prescription drug coverage and supplemental health insurance coverage will also be shared.
Those interested in a computer-generated Part D comparison report, must bring their prescription drug related information to comprising of name dosage, frequency, and preferred pharmacy to the event. Information about financial assistance programs which assist in paying for Medicare’s Part B premium and out-of-pocket expenses related to prescription drug costs will also be provided.
