Free Preventive Services offered to Medicare Beneficiaries

As per a news release issued by the Idaho Department of Insurance the following information were revealed. Idaho Medicare beneficiaries are taking advantage of free preventive services provided by the Affordable Care Act. About 50,975 people in Idaho with original Medicare Plan received at least one preventive service in the first five months of 2012. This comprises 5,050 who have received benefit of the Annual Wellness Visit.

The Idaho Department of Insurance promotes citizens to take part in these services. Department Director Bill Deal holds that by employing these services, people can stay healthy and have control over their personal health and avoid health problems before they actually happen. Preventive health care services free of cost and provided with no deductible or co-pay, for Medicare beneficiaries comprises of annual wellness exams, cancer screenings, mammograms and tobacco use cessation counseling.
